It is true that our society puts a lot of importance on height, and as a result a lot of people wonder how to gain height. Regardless of how fair, or even relevant this notion is, it is the fact. It is a very common concern shared by many young people, men and women alike. Being tall is a socially desirable trait, and as such, people are going to ask questions like “how can I grow taller?”

It is important that you realize there is no magical overnight growth serum on the market. Any product or advice claiming to add inches to your height in a short period of time is, to put it quite bluntly, complete rubbish. If you are naturally a short person, it will take a lot of effort to grow a bit taller. You will have to change your entire lifestyle and accommodate a lot of new routines.

The vast majority of people who decide they want to grow taller give up on this goal after a few weeks. In this sense, trying to gain height is analogous to losing weight, in that the success rate is very low. One could argue that trying to gain height is even harder than losing weight because there is much less of a support system for it!

Hormones Are a Huge Factor

There are a few different hormones that directly affect how tall you grow. These hormones include testosterone or estrogen, insulin, and the human growth hormone. Obviously, of these hormones, the human growth hormone plays the largest role, but the other hormones are very important as well.

If you do not produce enough human growth hormone, you will undoubtedly not grow at comparable rates to those with an abundance of the hormone. While you can get human growth hormone injected into you, this is ill advised as there are many devastating side effects of the procedure. Your best bet regarding how to gain height is to eat foods like cabbage and tomatoes and cross your fingers.

Your Family Is To Blame

Height is genetic. While it is not a rule set in stone, like the color of a child’s skin if the parents were both the same nationality, your height will usually closely relate to your family’s. There have been studies showing that identical twins are almost always extremely close in height to one another, while regular twins can be quite far apart.

This basically means that while you have control over some aspects of your height, you have zero control over others. If your family is very short and you grow up to be of similar stature, chances are its because you inherited their genes!

Exercise

It may seem weird, but exercising is probably the best way to see tangible height increases. The reason behind this is that spinal column, over periods of stagnation, will compress and shrink ever so slightly, and this ends up impacting your height. People who play sports are often at their tallest, while inactive people tend to be a bit shorter. Focus on exercises that stretch your spine out and make a routine that accommodates your height gain goals.

These particular foods are very good for you and not only assist you in your attempt to grow taller, but simultaneously improve your health when compared to what fast food.
